Boryszew Group’s Boryszew Automotive Plastics (BAP), specialising in the production of high-quality plastic components for the automotive sector, has joined the group of strategic partners in Volkswagen’s new R&D project. BAP Group will be one of the key suppliers of parts for the new innovative Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB) platform, which will be used for the production of VW electric cars.
The leading German car manufacturer unveiled its new project at an official presentation in Wolfsburg, with the participation of Wojciech Gąsior, CEO of Boryszew Kunststofftechnik Deutschland, a BAP Group company. MEB is one of the most important steps in Volkswagen’s history, on par with the transition from VW Beetle to VW Golf. The platform will enable the manufacturing of cheap electric cars for all.
According to Volkswagen’s plans, around 150,000 cars will be built using the platform by 2020.
